Bike MS: Hope to a Cure 2014

 

**NOTE: Bike MS will proceed as scheduled! The Kenai wildfire has been contained, the air quality has improved, and we look forward to seeing you at the start line Saturday morning.

Please arrive around 7:30 a.m., or come earlier and join us for breakfast in rider village at 7:15. The ride begins at 8 a.m. and all cyclists must leave rider village no later than 8:30 a.m..

Registration Fee: $65
Fundraising Minimum: $250 (not including fee)
Route Options: 110, 75, 50, and 25 mile options
Age Minimum: 18 years or older

Interested participants can still register at the event on Saturday from 7:00-8:00 a.m.  All registrations at the event require a payment of $315. This includes the $250 minimum pledge and the $65 registration fee.

For cyclists and all those seeking a personal challenge and a world free of multiple sclerosis, Bike MS is the premier cycling series in the nation. Bike MS in Alaska takes you on an unforgettable journey on scenic Seward Highway. Over 250 riders will cruise along courses ranging from 25 to 110 miles. Full meals, generous amenities, stunning landscapes, fully stocked rest stops and spirited festivities are all included.

Riders raise money to support MS research, programs and services dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals affected by MS. Bike MS will take you further than you've ever gone before. It's not the miles that matter — it's the unforgettable journey. Join us for an event that's more than a ride — it's anticipation, camaraderie, personal accomplishment, and the knowledge that you're changing lives... making every mile that much sweeter.


Packet Pickup

     Location: Trek Bicycle Store of Anchorage 
                       530 E Benson Blvd, Anchorage, AK 99503

     When: May 28 and 29 from 4-7p.m.

*If you have not raised the minimum $250 to participate and want to pick up your packet, please be prepared to turn in funds or sign a promise to pay form.

Driving Directions

 

     From the north 
     Drive south on the Seward Highway to Girdwood.
     Turn left on the Alyeska Highway and drive 2.2 miles to Hightower Road.

     From the south 
     Drive north on Seward Highway to Girdwood.
     Turn right on the Alyeska Highway and drive 2.2 miles to Hightower Road.


Parking Recommendations

  1. Turn left on Girdwood Place off of Alyeska Hwy. At the intersection of Holmgren and Girdwood Place you will find parking on the left.
  2. Across the street from the rider village at Alyeska Hwy and High Tower Rd., you will find parking in the park.
  3. There is parking on the side streets in Girdwood. Please be respectful when parking and avoid local businesses and residential drives.
  4. The Alyeska Day Lodge Parking Lot is no charge for day use visitors. Any overnight use will be a $10 fee. The Alyeska parking lot is located one mile east of rider village along the Alyeska Hwy on Arlberg Avenue.
