Fundraising Tips
Thank you for the time and energy you dedicate to raise funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis and to help us fund research for a cure. Fundraising can be easy and meaningful when you share why you ride and how the donations will make a difference. Below are tips and tools to maximize your fundraising efforts. We're here to support you along the way!
Start Early
Use the online tools in your Participant Center to personalize your personal or team Fundraising Pages, communicate with supporters and track your fundraising progress:
- Personalize the content of your page and upload a photo
- Send Support Me, Join Me, and Thank you emails to everyone you know!
- Track your fundraising progress
- Customize your Fundraising Page URL
- Post banners and buttons located in the Download Center on your personal social networking site
- Create an email signature inviting people to join or support your team by clicking on your team or personal page link:
Fundraising Minimum
Each Bike MS participant is required to raise the minimum pledge of $250; however, the majority of riders go far above and beyond. In 2009, the average pledge per rider was $800 and participants collectively raised $1.65 million toward a cure for MS!
Fundraising is all about Relationships
The more people involved in helping you reach your goal, the more successful you will be. Take the time to identify your sphere of influence. Consider inviting everyone you know to support you towards your fundraising goal. The best way to evaluate your contacts and connections is to make a “To Ask List.”
